I'd like to do a pic (among one or two other things) for every one of the racing games I've beaten in this journey so far. I'm looking forward to eventually making it into the modern EA racers, but my preliminary conclusion (despite Shift 2: Unleashed) is "a lot of old games are still very good and should always remain available"

Burnout paradise is one of the all time Drive Around and Pop Environmental Bubble Wrap games. Forza horizons is good and all but burnout paradise absolutely got there first and just did it really fucking well, before that was a very established genre of driving game I feel like (besides a game like GTA i guess)

I hadn't considered it a subgenre! Maybe it's just me, but it feels like something's lost when a game like this attempts to replicate the Burnout Paradise feel with licensed cars; too sanitized and marketing-focused, maybe. Even what I've played of Criterion's later games doesn't hit the mark, IMO
