Tips & tricks:
- You can use markdown for simple formatting in posts, similar to Discord if you're familiar with that (e.g. *italic*, **bold**, [title](link), # header).
- If you're familiar with HTML and CSS or just feeling more adventurous, you can use inline HTML and styling in posts! You can write code in the post editor, but prechoster is a neat preprocessor that makes writing posts with inline code a lot easier.
- In particular if you're interested in HTML/CSS, I would recommend learning about the flex layout module, which is probably the best way to format images in posts into rows or columns.
- You can quickly reblog/reshare/rebug/rechost a post by shift-clicking the icon in the post footer. Unfortunately there isn't currently a way to do this on mobile as far as I'm aware, but I believe it's being added in the future.
- Speaking of mobile: if you use cohost on mobile, there should be an "add to home screen" option in the mobile browser sidebar/options that will install the site to your homescreen as a progressive web app, which is basically just a normal mobile app for most purposes.
Things to be aware of:
- Mentions on cohost don't notify the page you're mentioning, and you also won't get notifications when asks you've sent are answered.
- Different profiles (or pages) on cohost have different following lists unlike sideblogs on Tumblr, if you're familiar with that, and you can also like, comment, and send asks from your side pages (I know some sideblogs on Tumblr had access to the latter two but it wasn't universally consistent)
Hope some of this is useful!
