Did you know?

Given their propensity to nap in any given spot, many people assume that yinglets don't bother with designated sleeping quarters, but quite the contrary! When it's time to fully bed down for the night, some yinglets can be observed sleepily clambering into their own labeled "bunks," which can vary from a queen sized bed to a particularly cozy shelf in a piece of IKEA furniture!

....hold up, did you say queen sized bed

@LeahPlease

Yes, though I imagine most are generally comfortable with a twin or a full at most unless their piles are too large

i've got a king size bed but zhat's because i often share it wizh dragons and a pine marten and a wolf and a braixen and a bunny (not all at once)

We got a king size bed because at the time we were expecting we'd have a larger polycule.

We do not.

However, our plushies have colonized the remaining third of the bed, so everything worked out.

in reply to @iamarat's post:

we have a king size bed, because there's three of us and that's kinda the bare minimum, but im just gonna point out here; nowhere agrees on bed sizes. an australian King and an american King and a british King are all different sizes!

I thought "california king" was a distinct size, not just a regional thing?

here, a "king" ≈ a "california king" and we call the american "king" a "super king". the kiwis call an australian "super king" a "california king", and in the UK a "queen" is bigger than a "king"?

Oh, yes. It's a distinct size. I have no idea why it's called a "California" king; a brief websearch seems to indicate that no one else really knows either. There are just competing theories.

I suppose it could be worse; they used to measure cloth, a trade good, in ells. Which were different lengths in different countries ...

even just in australia; any bed-related thing you buy from Ikea will be slightly off by just enough that you can only use an Ikea mattress with an Ikea bedframe. Not out of anticompetitive nonsense, they're just only selling EU sizes
