I would do remote raids every so often, but I was never grinding out legendaries to max them or shundo or anything like that. So the change didn't affect me at all. People complaining about it felt very...well, that sure is a first world problem, huh? Waiting in line for a queue isn't the end of the world.

The main reason I play Pokemon Go is to fill out the pokedex. I don't shiny hunt because I don't give a hoot about a lot of shiny designs and also searching for them makes them feel less special. I'm doing the elite raid today so Regieleki will be checked off the list and that's it, really, lol. I know they screwed up the Regidrago raids, where every single egg was 11 am. But, today, there was only one 11 am egg and it was kinda far from me, so I didn't go. So I'll go to a nearby 2 pm one. It's in a park in a residential area, so people should walk over and do it, right?

But idk if any of the people who normally do these things have quit playing Go over the remote raid pass thing. I don't know if they hopped into their cars and drove to do the 11 am one and now won't bother with the 2 pm. I only have one friend who is also really into Go but they live in Texas, which is a few timezones away from me lol.

And honestly I can't stand discord communities, I've really begun moving from the "always online"-ness of things like Twitter, tumblr etc. so Discord is just. I don't want to be on top of a million channels and a million conversations or risk missing out on things. I don't want shallow, fleeting relationships. I want actual, meaningful communities and connections and those have been what I've been focusing on.

Right after posting this, I went on Campfire and saw there was already a group forming up to do the raid, and people wanting to walk to another one nearby when it was over. See, this is the kinda stuff I want! Meeting local people face to face and talking to them! Not grouping with randos online!!! gosh

i am teh fuckign strong lol

I was one of fourteen people at that raid and this isn't a huge city or anything (~10k people) so like...this is not a dead game. It was also a really nice day out!
