we intentionally designed DMs out of cohost because we think other services can do a better job of providing private messaging and we don't want to be liable for moderation or compliance on your DMs. one of the things that's moving up our list of priorities now that twitter is imploding is providing some way for you to share credentials for discord/signal/telegram/etc. with whichever group of people you want (everyone on cohost, just people you follow, just mutuals, etc.)

I think a "business card" option, in that case, would be useful. Where you can privately share contact information without publicly broadcasting your discord/etc. Like handing a card out to someone at a meeting.
