so the latest anthology with a thing of mine in it has technically been out, but eBook only tomorrow (16th) is when it's officially official released, so there should be more links to buy and then I can share it. but also the publisher is Irish and I can never remember how many hours ahead they are from California and also it's the weekend so idk if people are gonna be updating links for that
anyways. i did make a little graphic that has all my (original) (fiction) pub credits for the year, and I was gonna post it today but i had a lot of other things to do, oops. and tomorrow is the winter social for the local writing group so idk if ill have the time/energy to post it tomorrow. or even links for the anthology lol we shall see
over christmas break i do plan on writing a pretty big lookback post for my website. ill probably post the highlights here. ill share what pieces i wrote (as in, were totally finished), how many subs i sent out, how many rejections i got, and those acceptances. i've seen some people already write/post these things, buuuut i know i am totally capable of going from idea to finished in less than a week, and also there's still a chance i might get another acceptance lol. but the christmas break period (my pto is christmas to jan 2) is that weird time where no one is really at the office, or, if they are, they're not doing much because no one else is at the office. so i dont expect to be getting much, if any, responses that week
(i could write about novel stuff but i dont track the writing of it so granularly and also agent querying is going very, very bad so there really aren't any data points worth sharing and it would make me sad to go into it that much lol)
also also: i signed up for a class! and i paid sixty nine dollars for it (nice) and its from a local public school, not a MOOC like coursera, so i have many reasons to actually go to it and do the work. it's on flash fiction, so i should get a couple pieces done and learn some stuff! which will be cool. there was another course i was interested but i'd have to miss a class because of the local writers conference. missing a day of school is a much bigger deal when there's only, like, ten classes the whole time.
ive looked at formal classes for writing as well as MOOCs. and the MOOCs cost waaaaay too much, or they're for extremely rudimentary things that would be a waste of my time (like "what is the 3 act structure" type stuff). and actual colleges cost uhhhhhhh a lot. and, as a genre writer, mfa programs aren't going to be super uhhhhh supportive of the kind of stuff i write. and also the only local program is a bit away, and also did i mention the cost?
but this school is pretty close to where i work, and the cost is low, and some of the classes are even online-only. and since it's for local people and classes are small, i'll be able to actually interact and connect with people.
this is a lot of talking! oops. and its lately i gotta do more stuff to get ready for the thing tomorrow. it is bed time
