"How to Survive a Draconic Business Takeover" is out now at @ThePinkHydra ! Before it was only available in anthologies you had to pay money for, so I'm excited for it being available for everyone to read! You can download it as a PDF with all the other stories or read it online. I think it's cool that you can change the font, too, so you can pick whatever is most readable for you :)

I just got a reprint accepted by The Pink Hydra, and they'd love to get stuff from more people! They're the only SFF market from South Africa right now and they pay a buck (which isn't a ton, but it's more than 0 and they don't charge any reading fees).

Work will be published online and free for people to read, they accept reprints (which would include stuff you've posted on here), and they have been very great and professional to work with :) The worst they can do is say no! [submission guidelines]

I think it would be totally awesome if we show this small place some love! I know the writing community here is very fun and loves weird speculative stuff, and this would be a great opportunity to help a new place grow.

"How to Survive a Draconic Business Takeover" has now been (re)-released in the spring 2024 volume of the Dragon Gems anthology! Check it out if you want some humorous fantasy stories :) Especially if you like dragons and or kobolds!

EMAIL SUBJECT LINE: it can be whatever you want, feel free to be funny or use an emoji (especially if it’s of the animal the story is about)

PREFERRED FORMAT: Direct link, if it’s available freely to read online, otherwise a PDF (which I’d like the most) or something I can open in MS Word

WHAT TO SEND: Short stories, novellas, novelettes, and anthologies (especially if you’re the editor), also book covers! (that can just be a link to an online store where I can see the cover). Also, if you consider yourself a furry or not.

OKAY BUT WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY “FURRY AWARD”: I’m a furry and a full member of the Furry Writers Guild, so I actually have the power to nominate for these (and vote, for the Cóyotls), and I’m an active member of the furry writing community.

But! I know that not all furry fiction is written by furries! Or published in furry markets! Each award has a requirement that a story be “furry,” and what that means is:

• Contains, or is about, an animal/creature that has human-like properties (such as walking on two legs or human-level intelligence)
• Examples include Bugs Bunny, Zootopia, and Watership Down
• This does not include a “regular” animal that can only do regular animal things
• Has to be in a “qualifying market” by FWG definition, which means it has some sort of editorial process (so no display sites) for short stories. It doesn’t have to be a paid market

If you are unsure if a story is “furry enough” or not, feel free to send the story to me, anyways, and I’ll figure it out lol
