We read a Questionable Content comic strip back in college like 15+ years ago about a bourbon so good, you have a religious experience, and we honestly believed it. The photo of the bottle in 2000s internet resolution gave the bottle a nearly holy glow. Funny enough we have it still saved to pull out when we need it.
But in any case, in 2010 or so, we believed that we'll likely die, tragically. Still do, but we were supposed to have died sometime more than five years ago. And for the sake of end times, we purchased a bottle of Booker's to be our final solace in the event we were ever at checkmate. This was the bottle we were supposed to open when I knew the anti-trans police were banging on my door to drag me out to the camps or have me shot in the streets. This was the bourbon to comfort me as I sit in a devastated husk of the earth where everyone I know is dead or dying.
But I felt Henry Kissinger dying is the one positive good reason to break that seal and dip into this bottle before I finish it out for the real purpose of when I purchased it. The cork is rotting though, so I'll need to get a new cap for it.
