So after a month's break off trying not to work on my reality programming text adventure Quoll, I'm back working on it again.
Though I had been leaning towards iterating on the existing stuff that's out there, I think I will actually start working on the next tutorial which would make the game, as an alpha, feature complete.
And because it actually worked really well with the zeroth tutorial, I have started by writing an "expected" transcript, where I just write it in Scrivener, my writing program.
Surprisingly the thing that has been toughest is that I'm revealing a character that I've been hinting at for a while, but she's kinda a third wheel on the existing Glitch-Ada dynamic, and she's supposed to be, but... Hmm
My biggest mistake imo when I write Ada is that Ada is meant to be a much more patient person than I am. And this new character tests my own patience.
I'll probably nail this character down eventually. She's very important to the story, and her dynamic with Ada is a major point of the story, but I knew it was going to be hard to write this character with the same sympathetic eye that I have for my characters.
Yes, I'm being vague.
