I'd argue the lesson to take from Roe v. Wade falling is that if you want Democrats to dither around for decades running on issues and doing nothing about it except providing excuses until it's gone, then sure, vote for them.
Just as they have done on voting rights that has led to states being ran by minority-rule christo-fascists, but hey it justifies them painting their neoliberal hellholes as sanctuary states where they will willingly welcome a new crop of trans people to throw out on the streets into homeless sweeps.
The only argument I can make in favor of voting is that if it's easy enough for you to do go for it. It's better than nothing. I still do it. Yes, even for Democrats. But save your sanctimony. Telling people to vote is like telling people to keep a budget (which has also worked out well for me). It can have benefits but does not in any sense address the actual issues that are in play.
eta: And let me be fair, I include crowing about not voting as if that at all does anything either as "sanctimony" in this. I just am tired at any and all appeals to the goodness of Democrats, because after 32 years of seeing the same cycle repeat, I'm through affording any.
