going to try something: any time I'm considering wading into discourse, I'm going to make a note to see if I can't handle it in Quoll somehow
because I think part of the problem with social media is that when people disagree with you by comments or quote tweets or whatever, that feels more in your face and leads to defensiveness
but if I thread the same idea to you as a reader of fiction, you're less likely to think I'm targeting you directly even if I am targeting your ideas
