Tomoko Sasaki, who voiced this intro card...
...and the Chao in the Sonic Adventure series, was the main composer of NiGHTS into Dreams.
Now, Last.fm didn't exist back in the 90s, but I'm pretty confident she was a fan of the dreampop band Dubstar, and was listening to a lot of their album "Disgraceful" back in 1995. Call it a hunch:
-
0:14 in Just a Girl She Said (~2x speed)
0:00 in Suburban Museum -
0:50 in Not So Manic Now
1:14 in Suburban Museum -
0:10 in Week In Week Out (~1.5x speed)
3:15 in The Amazing Water
More like NiGHTCore into DreamPop, am I right? Thanks, I'll be here all week.
It wasn't exclusively Dubstar that inspired her work on NiGHTS, though; have a listen to the chorus of the song Perspective by Yellow Magic Orchestra. Sound familiar?
