It's a pretty good "supernatural war and politics" anime so far, with a really weird delivery style.

It's been 5 episodes of character introductions, which have also been setting up the world and power systems and conflicts and individual motivations very well! All while having each episode be interesting on it's own!

That's not easy to do!

There is not, 5 episodes in, anything that looks like a unifying plot for the show. They've set up and progressed towards a first big clash with half the cast and that's about it. I'm guessing the other half gets roped back in when we hit the eventual "tournament of heroes" they talk about?

We haven't seen the gay magician girl and the isekai samurai at all since episode one.
