you’re here, and i’m here too
i finally got all Amethyst medals (community-made "quite difficult" goal times) today, something i gave myself the goal of doing in february of this year. it was nice to have a little hobby to chip away at, and i find that grinding levels scratches the same itch that labbing in fighting games gave me back in the day, except the only person i'm competing against is myself in the end. i've never really played a mouse+keyboard game in any serious way until this, so it required me to get a lot better. i can now "hit flicks"
i always recorded my PBs to keep for myself to refer to later, so i made a little video of one level for each month of the grind to show the slow process of improvement. enjoy the random music and out of context videos on in the background lol
enjoy :3
was inspired to finally wade into the swamp of Being Yet Another Transgender DJ/Electronic Musician lmao. when i was a lot younger, one of the first things that got me actually listening to remixes were the Team Teamwork mashups with videogame OSTs. while a lot of those remixes are a lot more complex, i thought it would be a good learner's project to make a smaller version of something like that.
when it came to choose what to mash together, the process was surprisingly easy: machine girl's Neon White OST has been on constant repeat for me since its release, and danny brown is my favorite rapper. also, having clean acapellas that danny put out is SO much better than using shitty youtube versions where you can still hear instrumentals in the background.
a lot of the tracks fit together better than i could have imagined with very little work on my part, so the process ended up mostly resulted in me trying to learn Reaper. how did it go? you tell me
