oh ty for including these so i don't have to go back and look at the post lol
#9: do you listen to music when you work?
A: i pretty much have to yeah. it helps me work better and things feel more fluid when i'm listening. it depends on what mood i'm in but one go-to right now is these trance tracks from umineko. i also listen to a lot of mountain goats, vaporwave/slushwave/italo disco stuff, hello meteor, PUP, uhhhhhhh i also like video game soundtracks like the signalis OST and the disco elysium OST. anything that's reasonably atmospheric
my art's relationship with music is kinda weird because a lot of times, when i wanna draw something, i'll pick a "theme song" for it. some concrete examples:
- we bite back - PUPTHEBAND Inc Is Filing for Bankruptcy (the text on this was originally going to be "IF THAT'S THE HAND THAT FEEDS, THEN I MIGHT AS WELL CUT IT OFF" but it didn't fit very well so i changed it. also i didn't want to like, use the lyrics of an indie band on something i was gonna sell, that just seems like a poor idea)
- this doodle i did when elon left twitter - See You Later Fuckface
- sic semper tyrannis cw blood, severed head - Werewolf Gimmick
- drawing of jenny calbert and holly wilson from eidolon poprock s2 - Jenny (SORRY I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG im lebanese)
- in fact pretty much every piece of eidolon playtest fanart i've done, i listened to the song the eidolon was named after at least a few times.
- if someone commissions me and provides a character's theme music i usually listen to that too while i work
sometimes i also crib titles from music cause i can.
24: What is your fondest memory of being in an art community?
i actually havent been in very many art communities, at least since some OCTs i was involved in on deviant art a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. i really like doing artfight though. i'm open to art trades/collabs/etc., if anyone is interested in that!
edit: ACTUALLY I JUST REMEMBERED THIS CRAPPY LITTLE OEKAKI SITE I USED TO DRAW ON. that was fun. do oekaki sites still exist
