in reply to @citriccenobite's post:

uhh, so the series is four girls fighting trauma monsters in an attempt to bring back their friends who committed suicide, which sounds... bad, but it was actually pretty well handled imo. basically like an exploration of the societal pressures and other stuff girls have to deal with in their teens. then the story pivoted to a previously unintroduced character in the second to last episode and is like "actually all this shit wasn't about societal problems at all, there was a robot girl causing all of this to happen because she was jealous of a 14-year-old girl" and the series kinda just ends

So like

Pantheon was probably perfect to anyone straight, and my actual thoughts in the last few episodes were just "Benjanun Sriduangkaew would have written this so much better" (and I have told her this) so it's definitely not an outright "do not watch" warning

and the issue with AnR is just that the stakes were retroactively removed, it was mostly very fun.

Anyway I 100% do recommend Princess Principal! (and also Gundam: the Witch from Mercury, if you somehow haven't seen it yet)
