oh my god. my mom is trying to get me to fix her printer but it's like. this is the FIFTH printer they've had in 15 YEARS and they KEEP HAVING PRINTER PROBLEMS to the point that i don't know if it's user error or some sort of ongoing problem AND ALSO IT'S DRIVING ME FUCKING NUTS

I think inkjet printers have a resonant frequency, sorta like the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, where if you print at that frequency (not more or less often) the ink in the printing heads gets just dry enough to completely fuck up the mechanism at preposterous speed.

they were much easier to get working before they started adding wifi and lcd screens to them. it's one of those devices that you really want to be as simple as possible because there are so many points of failure no matter what you do with it.
