raising dogs for their meat? yep. chihuahuas were originally bred as a meat animal and also a sort of living hot water bottle for sick people.

the lakota word for horse "šúŋkawakȟáŋ" literally translates as "holy/mysterious/powerful dog".

if you really need them to, dogs can do it all.

the one that sticks in my mind is the "turnspit dog": a breed meant to just sit there and turn a spit so large pieces of meat would cook evenly over a fire
