My workplace makes everyone sign contracts that anything they make is property of the company, even if it's done in your spare time.

Pretty effective way to get someone to shut the fuck up about their projects. As such i've internalized that i shouldn't tell coworkers about shit unless they're also close friends.

I mean... on average, once they're already interacting on an amicable personal level? decide you're "one of the good ones" and not examine it any further because that's the easy fix for any cognitive dissonance that might come from getting along with you πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
