the thing is that people have pointed out that some of the lifted designs are also taken from fakemon. so it's not just GameFreak being targeted anyway. and even if it were, those Pokemon designs were still made by people, not "the corporation"
all of this on top of the fact that Palworld is a mid-tier at best game still in early release from a studio notorious for both perpetually early release works and for wholly embracing plagiarism as a way of making games
Some people will happily reckon any amount of wrongs to make a right, provided they don't like whoever the most recent wrong happened to
given how much I got sealioned for the tame observation of "monster catcher but with guns and industrialized slavery is a boring idea actually" on twitter, I feel people already had bought the game and are trying to justify the purchase to themselves and everyone in earshot
It turns out defining the legality of something by if you like the victim is a bad idea, even if it's funny to see Nintendo get ripped off
