Going to a city where that's relevant is a fun way to figure out how much you actually know. I did like half a year of duolingo Norwegian. And it's been pretty useful both when I went to Oslo and when I went to Copenhagen, even though the latter is Danish.
that would be really nice. i'd love to visit spain or something and see how bad my spanish is. i havent really been out of the country since the 2010's
