i'd buy one! maybe once i get to college tho due to The Circumstances of Current Household Relations. although i honestly don't know how equipped EQFL is to do anything substantive. i emailed their "Director of Trans Equity" since i have a contact in EQFL but all they really seemed to have at the time (2nd of November) was "we're gonna show up at the meetings and hope for a public comment section."
yeah :/ ive got some experience with EQFL as well and they kinda suck. was thinking maybe if i could find a florida specific org run by LGBTQ people i would donate there, but i haven't done much research yet
there's a lot of queer people in the org, i don't know that the problem is a lack of them. EQFL's record seems to be pretty good when it comes to defeating legislation, but now most of the anti-queer agenda is being executed through school boards and various other non-legislative bodies, and that's a lot harder to defeat. and i don't think they've really adapted to it at all. i hope i'm wrong, but the climate has changed so much in florida so quickly that i don't know if there's much a non-profit that has to operate completely above board can do. if you can find a florida queer mutual aid fund, that might do more good in the long run? especially since EQFL has lots of money behind them already.
yeah i think a mutual aid fund is more along the lines of what i'm thinking! i just need to find one
