as a predominantly-slacking-at-work choster, i'm grateful for the over-tagging instead of the opposite, but wish ppl would just add the "nsfw" tag for hornyposting so the mutes work right
I don't think this fully overlaps with what you're talking about, but there are definitely some completely unambiguously sfw posts marked as 18+ because the poster has their whole blog marked as 18+ and didn't bother to untick the checkbox on that particular post
The ones who use the trigger warning instead of the tags for stuff like that make me want to yell at people
muting trigger tags and regular tags are two different systems, so at a minimum you're adding to people's burden to get their filters set up correctly.
For one, we have a handy system for tagging and muting tags so that we can choose what we see; if people don't use that, only doing CWs, it can't be searched. The tags make it clear what's in the post.
Additionally it leads to seeing things like "content warning: fat" which is just upsetting, like .. I'm fat, am I supposed to trigger warning before anyone sees /me/? That's bogus.
