i played dwarf fortress all day but only really made a bit of progress. i'm generally against savescumming in DF but i first fucked up my well, reloaded because i didn't want to lose smokeweed to flooding, then found a magma tube and accidentally unleashed a demon that killed all my guys in 90 seconds flat. so i reloaded again because that's not FUN

honestly fair, i had that happen with one of my lumberjacks (though i'm not sure if she dodged into the pond or if the tree she had just felled knocked her into the pond, but the end effect is a dead dwarf in a pond) and i was like OOH i want to reload so bad. but i hadnt saved in a bit so i didn't

i do think its funny though that a lot of the bugs and oversights in the simulation end up producing fairly realistic causes of death. and theyre all just as narratively dissatisfying as a character slipping and hitting their head in the shower could possibly be
