I said I was going to do this, and now's the time! I'm going to try and get a dedicated server up TODAY!! to take advantage of the free weekend for those who are interested, but understandably don't want to drop $35 USD (full price) on a game they don't know they'll enjoy.

The sale goes until the 24th, so you'll have some time to pick up the game even after the free weekend ends!

Also: How do people feel about PvP vs PvE? I don't want to make a full PvP server with castle raiding or corpse looting, but it might be fun to have a few hours per day (or the weekends) with PvP enabled because the combat system is really fun and reminiscent of MOBAs, so having the ability to duel other players without worrying about losing all your stuff could be fun. Thoughts?

Okay the server is up. it works. I can't get it to show up on the in-game server list, but i am removing myself from port forwarding hell for the night directly connecting works and it functions and everything is fine

I think I'll make a more well thought out post about this after work today, but....

Interest check for me setting up a dedicated V Rising server for all the eggbugs-- no, all the eggbats! out there? It's a fun game solo or with 1 or 2 friends, but it really shines when you have a lot of people to play with. And... well, there's a lot of people here, right?

A few people seemed intrigued when I posted about it the other day, and, honestly, I have the means to set up a free 24/7 dedicated server in my house, and the ability to be a community organizer, and it would be nice to keep in touch and play games with all the cool people I've met here.

The only thing I'm not sure of is that I do live in the US so I don't know how bad or unbearable the ping would be for all you international eggbats, but that's something I can figure out once we see how many people are interested. Worst case scenario, I just pay for hosting.
