It's present on XP (not 64bit though). Was removed in Vista and replaced with the sidebar widgets.

It all comes down to the "Details" and "Summary" tag. You can CSS Style both of them separately. OP made the Bliss Wallpaper cover the Active X error.

putting HTML rendering in explorer/mshta was genius. putting a bespoke JScript/VBscript parser however.........

Oh man, this reminds me of using an HTML file to have a wallpaper randomizer back in the XP days.

Kinda glad that's baked in now. It was a weird, janky solution and I remember it forcing text labels on desktop icons to have a background color instead of being transparent like they usually are.
