thats super fuckin' cool and im kind of interested in attempting a repair...
unfortunately the general state of such things is that if the module is dead you gotta have an identical one pulled from something else, because the whole rest of the amp is designed based on the characteristics of the module (which are real hard to duplicate in discrete components)
yeah alright look up "STK SAP15" apparently a ton of high-end stuff ended up being Piece of Shit because of the STK SAP15 power transistor
OH NO THEY'RE DARLINGTONS. WITH INTERNAL TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION DIODES.
Yeah this would be a whole thing to get going again.
that means it has two completely separate power supplies and amplifiers in it. audiophiles believe it sounds worse when the two channels can conceptually touch each other in any way
Outstanding. Taking star-point to new heights of absurdism.
I made tube amps on the side for a bit after college and boy howdy were there some Opinions to be had when it came to audio stuff. This one guy would go into the pro audio store my buddy worked at with an LCR meter to impedance match all his RCA cables. Something else.
