been spending some meaningful time with a windows laptop for the first time in years and i really understand why windows users and tech reviewers are so insistent on laptops having touchscreens - everything else is still awful on windows, even with ~precision touchpad~ drivers

what's so hard about trackpad drivers that only apple is able to get it right

oh yeah for sure, windows sucks on touch but it's slightly less infuriating being able to quickly prod at the screen with my finger than having to use a trackpad that constantly misfires gestures and clicks. this thing has a trackpoint at least so i've been using that. mouse isn't super viable in a lot of situations where i'm using this machine away from a desk/table tho

are there issues with touchpads on linux? i've always felt fine with it but i don't know if that's because they're actually good or if i just don't know any better

i can agree windows does suck it can't even do a proper 3 finger click, there's only an option for 3 finger tap for some awful reason
