my current setup:

i love that the uhk has little pointing device modules you can get...
they're really good. i waited like almost a year for this keyboard and it was extremely worth it. it really does feel like the endgame for me.
how's the tiny ball work? think it can replace a full mouse or is it just for quick things?
really depends on what you're doing! I've gone the occasional day w/o my proper trackball and it was fine. I wouldn't wanna use it for games or other things that actually require precise inputs.
It's definitely good enough for regular desktop computing though imho. Another really cool thing I use a lot is that it can emulate both a scroll wheel or continuous arrow key inputs which can be nice for things like really big excel sheets.
thumb trackball user here, gaming with it requires some practise but it works just fine & you can make big movements without knocking over your drink by accident! also really nice for 3d work
Oh yeah I guess you could use it like a thumb trackball but that hand position doesn't feel particularly comfortable to me. I use it with my index finger and use the thumb to click.
(just ftr i used a full sized thumb trackball before switching to my current one and i really liked it for gaming and other stuff as well, i was talking specifically abt my experience w/ the trackball module for the uhk)
oooooh TIL about the UHK's modularity
that really makes it very end-gamey
yeah it's honestly really nice... i doubt it'll be the last keyboard i'll ever get/build but i definitely think it's gonna be my main one for a long time.
I'm seeing all the split keyboards in this thread and I am intrigued. Not sure if I can daily one until I try it out.
split keyboards must feel so nice to use, having a nice tilt following the wrist's position seems cool
