i try my best to do so at home every three times a week since 2020. it's lovely to do if you got something to listen and/or watch to break the monotony.

and, if there was one type of dish i wish i had the catharsis of putting on f tier, it would be those rounded square mason jar mugs. their hard-to-reach upper corners are much more tedious to clean up than the numerous amounts of spoons and forks. plus, it's even more annoying when a gap exists between where the glass and handle meet.

btw, strainer's are close to f tier as well because i can never tell if i missed a spot or not with the tiny holes.

anyways, y'all got any dish washing opinions you wanna share?

S Tier: Plates, bowls, metal spoons
A Tier: Colanders, modestly-sized pans
B Tier: Forks, knives, pan lids
C Tier: heavy pans
D Tier: anything made from wood
E Tier: brushes
F Tier: Sieves/strainers, cheese graters
Just some quick thoughts idk, I'm not a fan of washing dishes.

Sheet pans might be like, E tier? Some sinks they don't fit into great; the lipped ones splash water out and the airbake ones hide water inside to drip on you when you least expect it. Then it's hard to fit them into your jenga of drying dishes! Not quite The Worst but annoying.

In general I love pans, because I have become an Expert at them thanks to profeshionally dishwashing.

It's amazing how much work can be cut out when you get something wet and let it site for a few minutes--it doesn't neec to be submerged/filled, just wet.

My hottest dishwashing opinion tho, is scrape then rinse (or sometimes wet then scrape) everything before filling the sink with hot & soapy. Floaties are The Worst and should not be tolerated.

i only recently learned how hot water softens food stuck in a plate faster and it makes me yearn for a kitchen sink that can have both hot and cold water so it makes scraping off food bits a bit more convenient

also, i rarely have to wash sheet pans but i understand how sneaky they can get with water!

Oh the sides of my hands started hurting just thinking about trying to shove them into jars to clean them. I also hate vegetable peelers, i feel like i can never really scrub them without obliterating either my scrubbing instrument or fearing for my fingers

vegetable peelers definitely can go together with can openers and knives as scary devices to pay more attention to when washing or i accidentally make a scratch on my hands

half size sheet pans are D tier - they don't fit in the sink, so it's a pain in the ass to scrub them. quarter size sheet pans are A tier tho

wire racks are F tier: everything bad about a half sheet pan, plus plenty of crevasses for bits of food to get stuck in

Any long skinny vessels are f tier or below because I have massive meathook hands and they simply do not fit. So I have to use a stupid bottle brush and those are wholely inadequate.

Next is glass baking pans because they seem like it should be easy but the stuff won't come off to anything short of a metal scraper I swear to god
