The whole "comma-la" pronunciation really only works if you pronounce comma in a certain way. YouGov's UK poll wrote "karm-ala (like calm)" which is maybe more helpful?
Anyway I am astonished how many people, particularly journalists and members of her own party, who are just consistently pronouncing it wrong. Where are the standards?
