I've actually never played it, is it worth the hype?

I haven't played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since Christmas but I did always love Daisy Circuit on the Wii.

As for the characters: Pauline is cool! But Funky Kong? Peachette?? How am I going to explain this to my children parents?

I'd never heard of Eastward but I guess they're doing Stardew Valley now?
