Today marks day 4 of REI Durham's strike following the placing of one of their coworkers on unpaid leave; it is now the longest strike in the history of REI.

REI Durham's demands have increased in kind: they are now demanding REI stop its delaying of a union vote in addition to reinstating Steven from his unpaid leave. (You can still help them by calling and emailing the above information.) The community of Durham has been remarkably supportive of the strike, despite not being known as a union town. Dozens of people have sent snacks to the strikers, and others have seen the picket line and joined the boycott of REI until the union's demands are met. They've also received the support of DSA Durham and the Johnson County Democratic Party.
