A brief one this morning: last month, the Portland, OR non-profit Community Cycling Center, which does bike repair and maintenance, voluntarily recognized its budding union. The seventeen-member Community Cycling Center Workers Union asked for voluntary recognition and received it within just two days, averting any funny business. They'll be affiliated with ILWU Local 5, and are apparently the city's first union-represented bike shop employees.
