Over the past week and change the Indiana Graduate Workers Coalition, a coalition for the campus's graduate workers, has been protesting IU President Pamela Whitten’s office in an effort to get her to agree to a long-desired union election. On January 17 they presented Whitten with a 1,300-signature petition to that end and also called on Whitten and the university to enact a living wage for graduate workers (around $16/hr in Bloomington, IN).
