According to Bloomberg the UAW's big unionization campaign has hit another milestone as of this morning: receiving majority support at its first plant. They've achieved this at the VW plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. (They've also seen >30% card rates at Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai, so majority support may soon follow at both.)

This is not actually UAW's first rodeo at VW: they've unsuccessfully sought to unionize the plant twice before in the past decade. This time seems more promising, however—they're optimistic about the union card trend at the plant, especially following their successful strike last year against the Big 3. That said it'll be awhile before any union election happens with any of these plants due to the UAW's strategy—they're giving themselves a generous threshold of 70% support at the plants they're attempting to unionize before calling an election.
