M: But an actual answer would be to pick something all y'all (or most of y'all) enjoy or feel connected to, like a favorite animal or a landscape, or a character.
Oooh good ideas, worried that picking a character will make folks think we have them as a fictive & a prominent member.
what we did is pick a character who vaguely represented all of us and now it;s our "mascot" everywhere. if you don;t want something like that, maybe just a faceless icon of aome kind relating to your system name? like a pile of bones for you guys or something

the logo we use as our icon on our personal discord server and also my banner on here was just my phone wallpaper at the time, we should probably make a new logo taking inspiration from it at some point
We tend to go with things that all or many of us like or relate to in some way (for us, that's space, rats, the Void, or musical keyboards). I don't know if this would apply to you but there's also a character we often use as our icon (Ford Prefect from Hitchhiker's Guide) because we have multiple system members who identify as and/or self-ship with him. -Strangelove
It doesnt' have to be all that big or meaningful, we largely just alternate between who has the newest bit of artwork to show off.
If that's not so frequent for you, you could always alternate to whomever's around most recently's choice.
