in reply to @collectionofbones's post:

I think sometimes it makes sense to proceed as though it is a new systemmate until you discover otherwise. This has the risk of creating a new systemmate if there wasn't one to begin with, but it's up to y'all whether that's a bad thing or not. It might also be that it is both a new systemmate and a feeling one of you also have. I guess in general, just be open to the possibilities and reassess often.

It can be hard. In retrospect we can see many instances of Meredith influencing other headmate's before she fronted for the first time. There was usually a feeling that things did not quite fit, in a way that things like this one going drone mode have not inspired. Ultimately we only even suspected Meredith was here when she fronted alone for the first time.

I'm not sure there's neccesarily a way to identify which it is, but "plurality happening" does have a certain feeling to it for us which we can recognise. If you keep an eye on the sensation you might be able to recognise it.

Since the stakes aren't all that high really, the worst that'll happen from you assuming the feelings are yours is finding out otherwise. Though as the other replies said, assuimg this is a new headmate is probably a good way to get a new headmate.
