Hello cohost! I'm @kuraine, otherwise known as Lena, and today I'm pleased to present the first of a series of interviews I've conducted with the lovely cast of my (distantly) upcoming game Project Astray!

Tangentially, it's also your first look at the new portraits! I've been sitting on the style change for a bit now but I am comfy enough with them to share~ Check out the image description for a little bit more detail.

We are, of course, beginning with the protagonist of our story, the one and only Astra Projectastray

  You know that's not actually my name right
• LENA

  Well okay your first name is Astra though, right?
• ASTRA

  yeah lol
• LENA

  And you're familiar with the thing people do with like...characters that mostly go by their--
• ASTRA

  I know what fandoms are, Lena.
• LENA

  Okay I just
• ASTRA

  Please don't give me a made-up last name... it's embarrassing.
• LENA

  I was just trying to be funny
• ASTRA

  You weren't. But that's okay.
• LENA

  Thanks?
• ASTRA

  Anyway the game's name isn't even Project Astray, right?
• Like if anything you should've said Astra AN--
• LENA

  Okay I'm gonna cut you off right there! We're not quite ready to reveal the actual game's name yet.
• ASTRA

  Suit yourself.
• LENA

  So. Astra. What's it like being the big MC, the main cheese?
• ASTRA

  Can you just ask me normal questions?
• LENA

  Uhhh...yes. Favorite color?
• ASTRA

  I don't know if I have one? Like I could say white, but that could be interpreted really poorly lol
• The absence of color
• LENA

  You like ghosts a lot, right?
• ASTRA

  Sure. They're cute.
• LENA

  Do you know any personally?
• ASTRA

  Have you ever met a ghost?
• LENA

  Not really.
• ASTRA

  sigh
• LENA

  So conceptually, you think ghosts are cute.
• ASTRA

  Yeah. I doodle them a bunch. Like, little silly cartoon guys.
• LENA

  What do you like about them?
• ASTRA

  They just seem so carefree. Floating around... I bet they could go up into space no problem, just like... Hang out, see the stars.
• LENA

  You like space too, right?
• ASTRA

  Yeah. I used to stargaze a bunch when I was a kid. My parents got me this huge telescope, no idea how they managed to afford it. But I'd look up at the moons and wonder what it'd be like to walk around on them.
• LENA

  Moons, like, plural?
• ASTRA

  Yeah, there's two moons. One's like, a sub-satellite, which means one orbits the other. Some people call it the moon moon.
• LENA

  Moon moon?
• ASTRA

  Hehe yeah, it's pretty funny. I dunno. Looks pretty though. On dark nights you can see the little trail it makes as it orbits. Like a red cape of stardust, flowing out as it goes.
• LENA

  Sounds really pretty. I wish we had two moons here on Earth.
• ASTRA

  Your earth?
• LENA

  I mean, like, the real earth that we all live on. Not yours.
• ASTRA

  Mine is the real earth, though. Not sure what you're talking about.
• LENA

  Okay we'll uh, I'll just drop it because interviewing you from beyond the canonical understanding of your world that I made up is kinda confusing.
• ASTRA

  Whatever you say.
• LENA

  ...
• Any hobbies?
• ASTRA

  I play shmups on my computer.
• LENA

  Who doesn't?
• ASTRA

  Yeah.
• LENA

  ...
