It’s happened to me 3 times in a row now that a client has asked for my rates, I’ve quoted them my full rates expecting to be negotiated down, and they just accepted my initial offer. And my rates are higher than most freelance indie composers I know (somewhere in the $850-1000 per minute of finished music range depending on turnaround time, instrumentation, etc. At least double that if they want a wfh/rights buyout situation).
So in conclusion please charge more!!!
