but this weather reminds me of having to replace a starter solenoid in -40° weather in a dorm parking lot, so that i could drive back to my parents house for christmas break
i had help from my dad, but we cold only work in 10 minutes shifts
the entire starter had to be removed, and then we worked on the solenoid inside. he could have just picked me up, but we were afraid that with no way to heat the engine block, the seals on the cooling envelope would burst
as it was we had to disable the cooling system on the drive home by putting a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator.
