The wild thing about having a donate link posted in public is that people can send you gifts or aid or whatever and the payment service will give you their legal name and no other information. However the legal name means absolutely nothing to me, I only know people by their online profiles, and I have no way to thank or acknowledge them.
So in reality the payment services policies to demand real actual legal names from everyone does more to assure actual anonymity than anything else.
Because I'm sure as hell not posting a list of legal first names with a thank you notice or attempting to backtrace people to find them because that would be super fucking weird. Like, triple extra extra hyper sus.
All that said... thank you, randos.
You've kept the lights on and bought the groceries and helped me remain safe and sane. I'm still writing, still looking for full time work, and still need all the help I can get, but some day I hope to pay it forward.
