it's funny, 2½ years ago I would not have wanted to read/watch something that took place in a world where COVID existed; now, it's almost. comforting? that there are things where the stories exist in spite of the pandemic and the precautions the characters take to stay safe. and I guess specifically cause it feels like so many people want to pretend like everything's fine, y'know

I'm thinking abt this cause a fanfic I'm reading mentioned covid, but a comic that's an example of this and also is just really good is matchmaker. makes me feel, like, represented I guess; i'm a queer person with queer friends and we wear masks on public transit and in public indoor spaces too :)

no, your fiction is really good stop ragging on yourself!! escapism is important and tbh I think probably part of the reason I like the fact that covid exists in e.g. matchmaker is that it's escapism too; to a world where people around me would actually take the ongoing pandemic seriously hahaaaa
