I know this isn't a new discovery, but english orthography is so stupid sometimes. I know there's etymological/historical reasons for it, but c'mon, ⟨tough though⟩ being pronounced (in my ~NCVS dialect) as /təf ðoʊ/? it's a one letter change and they share none of the same phonemes !!
