Listening to the Remap 101 on System Shock Remake has me wanting to try another Plot 3 playthrough, probably with a mod or two like bloom reduction and no med patch animations. My first attempt I didn't realize how the time limit worked and thought the time limit was only to the explicit threats; the laser or the groves, etc. Once I beat those I would slow way down and explore before I realized the timer was still there.

Part of me wants to go for the all 3's hardmode playthrough but cyberspace sucks so hard

Dreading the day I am elevated to a floating psychic being within the flesh collective but still have to send emails to organize meetings

I sure do hope everything is normal on our spaceship today and definitely not a nightmarish invasive collective organism horror show! Remember to keep an eye out for cyber modules and an ounce of maintenance is worth a pound of repair

So while I was completely high on beating SSRemake I started another playthrough and loved it, even when max difficulty on plot because I thought it added a diegetic time limit. The problem is I thought that diegetic event was only partway through the game, then after that you were free to roam as you please. Every time I passed the milestone I thought Oh, it must be this NEXT milestone." Then it turns out the timer is still there and still progressing and I've got two whole floors left to go.

Now I know the timelimit is a hard limit to beat the game and I've wasted 8 hours getting to an unwinnable point. Do I continue in this doomed world I have created to see how close I can get or just start over (some other night) and try again knowing?
