removed three of the trees in this hedge. think i'm gonna remove all of them. they feel kind of ill-proportioned to the rest of the yard, blocking a buncha sunlight. they were planted for privacy — the path along them in the foreground of the picture is a right of way my neighbours use to get to their house — but i don't really feel the need to close everything off tbh.
i think they're Port Orford cedar, which is supposed to be pretty good wood. i'm saving the bigger logs for turning/carving — i'll strip the bark and seal the ends with beeswax tomorrow
