how am i gonna automate the greenhouse watering/fertilizer application?

commercial greenhouses use like, water driven dosing pumps or venturi injectors but they are fairly expensive, and i don't think i have the flow rate or volume to make this work properly anyway.

i've been rotating it in my mind and i think the only sensible option is probably to just mix up a batch of stock solution at a time by hand. i was gonna have a tank at the bottom anyway, for recirculating the solution for ebb/flow irrigation. this way i just don't automatically refill it. maybe later i could add a peristaltic pump or something, idk

Reminds me of when I used hours of my time trying to find a suitable automatic timer for our pump system by looking at pages that specialize on fish farming equipment, only to end up finding the exact thing we needed at a gardening store.

i'm thinking gravity fed tank to a valve that turns on and off with a timer. for unclear reasons, my stupid flat has an electrically operated valve to shut the water off, you could use that

the sprinkler part can be, i don't know, whatever

oh the hard part isn't really pressure or actuation, i have a pump and a bunch of electric valves i bought off aliexpress a While ago. i was pondering more how to get like, accurate dosage and mixing of the fertilizer, which has a dose rate of like 10-40mL per 10L water (so 0.1 - 0.4% v/v). but i think automating that is probably too much work for too little gain

also fwiw i'm probably not doing sprinklers but ebb and flow -- where you periodically pump water into a tray that holds the pots, let it sit for a bit, then drain it out again. means i won't have to futz with sprinkler positions as much, since things change around in the greenhouse a bunch over the course of a year
