well, it's "Alabastine MuurGlad®" but that's what "MuurGlad" translates to. it's supposed to be easier than plaster, for the DIY market. it also costs like, several times more than plaster.

i had this awkward spot to fill up in the kitchen, where the plaster ended at the old wall (which i removed). so i wanted the area around the door level with the existing plasterwork. also have a couple other weird places like this. and i have good experience with other Alabastine products, so i decided to try this stuff out.

i thought from the technical data sheet that it would be similar to plaster, but it's not. it acts a lot more like the "hole filler" stuff they sell, which has a bunch of acrylic in it. this is a good thing, it's fairly easy to handle. should sand real nicely too.

i had like 5mm to fill so i didn't quite level it yet, planning to put on another thin layer tomorrow to finish it. then i can sand and paint it. and then the kitchen is basically ready for flooring. exciting times

hard to tell exactly until it's dry but it's designed to be painted over, and if it's like the filling compound that it handles like, the paint should adhere just fine. like it's not a glossy surface, it's meant to just get rid of textured plaster or other uneven texture like that
