pretty decent self-contained little story. maybe a little bit wish-fulfilment-y in that the kinda nerdy main character falls in love with a more spontaneous/wacky girl. but i think it does okay at making it understood that ganta has problems he needs to deal with.
apparently the manga is still going. i wonder which part of it the anime covers, and where it goes after that.

at one point i was half convinced magari was gonna die at the end. it felt to me like maybe she was pretending she was all better now, with the 'please remember me' thing she says at one point. but it became kinda clear that that was just a thing she worried about.
i think it would have been a good story if that happened too, but a different one.
