also i have been pondering rainwater storage in the new yard again because i've started to need to do some watering again, and though there's hardly a drought it would be nice not to have to use tap water for it.

thing is, i did some math and i think i want like ~2000L (~500gal) of capacity, to last me through a decent drought. i have a little piece of land i can't do much with behind the shed that i want to use for it, but it's kind of a tight fit. it's small and the ground water level is high. none of the pre-made tanks i looked at would fit very nicely.

i was considering building a custom tank out of like, the plywood they use for concrete formwork, and sealing it up with rubber goop. but i realized today there's a way easier solution: i can just dig a hole and put in some pond liner lol. probably put a cover on top. i'm not 100% sure how sound the foundation of the shed is, and how much side load it sees, so i might add some braces (to make up for all the ground i'd remove for the pond, when it's empty), just to be safe, idk.

then i think i'll build a little porch over that. should just about fit a hammock or something i think. nice chill place next to a bulb flower field
